KnifeEdge still does this for later versions, but not for G2.I saw a post by one of the KnifeEdge administrators that a server crash some time ago was the cause of this.) So I figure that there must be 2 or 3 of us still using G2 and we could use this thread to share the planes we have squirreled away in our own hard drives. This is the collection of planes I had downloaded over the years.
The files are all.exes, which RCG wont let you download, so I zipped them up in the attached zip file. To use them, run the.exe and point it to your RealFlight planes folder. You have to have the ad-on disk for the base plane (unless it came with the standard package) or the modified plane wont work. Here is a directory of the zip file so you can see whats in it without having to go through all the steps. I think you could just post the.pln file; I used the.exes because the.exes I had downloaded were saved in a separate folder. It is also worth noting that in RF9 we moved some aircraft into a different folder in the MFC aircraft selection dialog. If youre using that method to browse aircraft, be sure to expand the RealFlight Legacy Aircraft folder to see more. ![]() I did not see the Harrier in the list on the website listing the aircraft, my bad. They were all released 20 years ago for RealFlight ClassicDeluxe and RealFlight G2. They worked with G3, but there was nothing we could do beyond that to keep those original disks working with later versions of RealFlight (G4). We decided to repackage the content and make it available for everybody as a free download. Did I mention that content is ancient It really shows its age. Nevertheless, it is available and if you arent too picky it can be a good way to get certain models that arent available in a newer, higher-quality form (or just to indulge in a bit of nostalgia for those who have been with us since those earlier days). It will work as long as it works and ifwhen it stops working that will be that. The content in the packs is old, its free, its not great, but its there. One particular use for the packs is a number of custom planes on the swap pages which utilise assets in those packs. Also, the extra fields included in the packs increases the assets available in the custom field editor. I had a 6 credit from Volkner online (Germany) so got it for under 170.
